HK Day 3

After we bid farewell to Mickey and Co., we headed to HK main island. We stayed in Citadines, Ashley, recommended by KK. It was a small boutique type of service apartment hotel located conveniently near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station.

Everyone must come back with a photo posing under the HK MTR station's name!

Messy! Taken only before we checked out.

Thou small but it has a small kitchenette comes fully equipped with utensils, cutlery, microwave and even induction cooker. I opted for the Studio Premier, comes with a queen sized bed and a sofa bed which can fit an adult with a child or 2 children. The gals were happy to occupy the sofa bed and made it their 'club house'.
We started the day with breakfast in the hotel then we ventured out. I read online that there is a street called The Goldfish Market,  selling pets like fishes and dogs. The gals had a good time looking at fishes, squirmy worms, exotic turtles and tortoises, angry looking chameleon and cute little puppies and kittens.

Look! So many goldfish

In packets, ready for you to bring home.

Come doggy!

After the late morning walk, we went in search of a famous cha chan teng but couldn't find it. So we settled our lunch at any cafe we set our eyes on. With lunch done, we made our way back to the hotel for a short rest. I'm glad that we didn't go for a group tour as it would be too hectic for us. Travelling with kids will means at our own pace and doing things leisurely.

We headed out again at 5 plus in the evening and we decided to explore Harbour City area. It was a super mega mall with branded boutiques. I saw long queue outside Chanel boutique and many more ladies buying branded cosmetics. We only took photos at the Xmas deco and admire the HK night view at the Star Ferry Harbour. We also dropped by 1881 Heritage site, which used to be the headquarters of HK Marine Police from 1880s to 1996.

Next we went Avenue of Stars, as it was facing the harbour, it was windy. Like most tourists did, we had fun posing, looking for familiar stars' signature or palm print. The gals were excited when they saw Jackie Chan's palm print. CL was went in search for Bruce Lee's statue. Taking photos here is a challenge, you have to get ready and dash to stand next to the statue or palm print of famous stars.

We wanted to watch the Symphony Of Lights but it would be a long wait. So we made our way to have steamboat for dinner. With a friend's recommendation, we went Dao Xiang, a chain of restaurants started with steamboat also called hotpot.

The wait was longggg, I guess it could be due to being a Sat and weather is cold so everyone wants to have steamboat to warm themselves. We didn't order much as the gals are not very big eaters. We only order Angus beef (only less than  S$15), meatballs, veg, black pig meat (ard S$6) and tofu. The soup based we order was pork bone based, highly recommended by CL. It came with some corn and carrot in it. The gals loved steamboat cos they can get to cook their own food. I highly recommend going their if you ever have a chance to go to HK.

See the meat ball, it was big and juicy.

After a fulfilling dinner, we decided to head back to our hotel. Guess what I saw Xu Liu Shan! It did appear in Sin many years back but it has since closed their branches. I ordered the mango with sago. It was still good!
