Open House @ The Istana

I have been to the Istana when I was younger. Didnt do much there, all I remembered was walk and more walk. XC's art class tr informed us that there will be a on the spot art competiton on the 8th Aug and wanted us to go for it.
The competition started at 8 and we reached at ard 815am. Then we saw a looonnnngggggg Q! Didnt know that we have to q to go into Istana. Turned out that it was due to the security checks. We waited for abt 45 min to 1 hr before we passed the gate. We found a shady spot and planted ourselves there for the rest of the morning.
Brought biscuits, bubbles and an old digital cam for YE to entertain her. She was quite amused by the 2 swans and kept wanting to go near them.
When it was time to submit, it was over the submission time. But still managed to hand it thou I'm not sure if the judges really saw the art piece. Never mind, process is always more impt than results. At least XC had a chance to put her skills to practice in a competition setting. She was not upset abt the results and wants to go for more competiton in future. YE asked me 'Next week can go Istana again?' hahaha.... Think she misses the swans.
Oh not forgetting abt this, we came face to face with the President! Clement was carrying both gals and the President asked if they were his daughters. Both gals also managed to shake hands with him.

Oh Yeah Oh Yeah On Yeah Hey!

XC and I were on our way back home from her art lesson. We saw crowds gathering outside AMK Hub and immediately remembered that the torch relay will pass by AMK Hub. Luckily the weather was fine but we waited for almost 1 hr. It happened so quickly, only a minute or so! But i thought it was worth it. XC managed to see history in making :)

We are back!

Sorry for the MIA period. We have been busy shifting here and there. Finally shifted to our new place on the 24th Jul. Almost finished unpacking the stuff and the gals have also settled into their new room. YE is rather difficult during the interim shifting. As we stayed at my grandma's and inlaw's place for 2 weeks, she wasnt very cooperative in sch and wanted more attention than usual (feedback from tr). Now that we have settled down, she too also back to normal.
