Whole New Experience (II)

Today is the 3rd day of BB Yun Er in school. Yesterday was fine, no crying at the school entrance. Xiao Ci still stayed with her for a while, during meals and nap time. She still cries on and off but will stop when teacher talks to her. She also finished her lunch and milk. I didnt take the school bus back with her, I want to see if she can take the ride better without me. Bus auntie told me that she is very guai and sits throughout the ride. Only cried when auntie unbuckle her cos she had dozed off. :) But... today she cried when she was at the school entrance. My husband didnt fuss and just left her with the teacher. So I called the school to check on her. She still makes noise on and off but has improved. Xiao Ci told me that she wasnt 'called for duty' to be with her. Her teacher also didnt called me so I think they are managing well with her. Looks like BB Yun Er is adjusting well into the new environment. My husband commented that BB Yun Er whines lesser and she is more chatty and outgoing. I'm just glad that she is well taken care of when I'm at work and my inlaw can rest well.

A Whole New Experience (I)

BB Yun Er went to school earlier than we expected cos the school called last Thurs and said that they can take her in first as the other child has not reported in yet. The school management actually wanted either parent to be for a few days to settle her in. However, being a busy time now its impossible to take leave and my husband also couldnt take leave. In the end, i took time off till 1030 and my husband went in later to office.
We agreed that he will go in with the gals and be with BB Yun Er in class. She clings on more to me and whines whenever she sees me. I hid outside the school and peep at any chance. She was fine in class, no crying and seems to like the outdoor play. Wanted to go home when they done the outdoor play but the teacher managed to coax her. Then when my husband had to leave, the teacher got Xiao Ci to come down to stay with her. It would be better to have a familiar face around for the 1st day.
We left and the teacher called me at ard 1 to update on her progress. She did cry a little and would call out 'Papa' when she has is not occupied. She finished her bowl of shell pasta, drank milk and nap. Was the last to nap after playing with the teacher for a while. The teacher told me that it would be good to be with her for the 1st time bus ride home. I went over at ard 4 and peep at her. She was drawing with her sis and classmates and seems fine. She only started to cry again and louder when she needs to go home and sees me. On the bus, she refused to sit on her own and prefers my lap. She didnt show signs of motion sickness (i think i feel much worse compared to her!).
On the whole, she is quite ready for school and didnt say she doesnt want to go again. Both teachers are encouraging and even told me not to come too often into her class, let her learn to be independent. They are understanding and assures me that she is fine.

No more fun yet tiring school holidays with BB Yun Er

Been real busy due to exams and also taking care of BB Yun Er cos my mil who helps in looking after her in the day had a fall. It was quite bad and she still complains of pain now (even after 2 weeks). So she cant look after BB anymore and I was desparately looking for a child care centre. Xiao ci's school came to my mind but when i checked with them, they were full!!!
Luckily after an appeal with MCYS, BB got in! Yippie!!!!
So BB will go school with jie jie and only be back ard 5.30 in the evening. That means during june hols, I be alone till they come back. Initially was happy but still misses her laughter and cheeky face.
Sigh... life is so contradicting. But at least she can learn to socialise and be independent.

Whose sexy legs?

They belong to ... BB Yun Er! She likes to pick out the stickers and starts sticking them onto her legs or hands. Maybe I should be glad that she doesnt stick them on the floor or walls.

Masked Gals Alert!

The 2 gals were sick again last week. We went for TCM instead of the PD cos the medication seems to work better for them especially BB Yun Er. Due to the swine flu, ppl with flu like symptons had to put on a mask. There were no kiddy mask for children so the lady got the straps adjusted and the gals wore it.

Let's Go Bowling

Ever since xiao ci has went for a bowling session with papa and his colleagues, she expresses interest in playing the game. Well i thought it would be good cos it is an indoor sport that does not make her perspire (due to her eczema she would start scratching all over whenever she sweats). One of my colleague is an avid bowler and told me that there are suitable places for kids bowling and also classes for them. Good! Then if she is good in it, who knows she might be able to represent Singapore in Asian or Commonwealth Games!!! hahaha... Actually what we really want is to get her to pick up a competitive sport. This would help in getting used to challenges in life, to learn perseverance. In another words not too be too 'nuah'. I have seen too many kids giving up even before they try and not a goal in their life. It is all just either academics and academics. Ask why they need to study, they would answer 'I dont know' or ' Just study loh'. I want my 2 kids to have a goal in life, be it academically or in sports. At least they could strive to be the best and tries to achieve their goal. Whether they can succeed or not is not important.
ok ok so much for the long long story, we played only 2 rounds cos it was actually tiring. Xiao ci used a 4 pounder ball (the lightest available) and she needed Papa's help. There are 2 gutter guides to prevent the ball from going into the 'longkang'. We also got to keep entertaining BB Yun Er and prevent her from running to the lanes.

We were are Paragon last weekend. We had dinner at Ding Tai Feng then just walked around at the kids level. The 2 gals were happy to see an indoor playground. However we didnt stay long at the playground cos some children were running around and seems dangerous. We then saw the stand up poster for kids to pop their heads to a a funny shot. It was quite a funny sight.
